New Batch of Bharatanatyam dancers

Training of new batch of Bharatanatyam girls has begun by Mridula Nambiar, senior disciple of Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan (Padma Bhushan awardee). Heritage School, Vasant Kunj has given us the premises three times a week going forward since the children are from their EWS Quota.

Its always exciting to see the first few days of a young girls training in Classical forms. Her amazement at the monotony of the steps initially often blossoms into amazement at the beauty of the monotony. When she figures her balance in the body- when she sees how perfectly the beat of the ‘stick’ to keep the talam is coming along- her confidence grows.
