Summer workshop
A 5 day workshop, 24th — 28th June 2019, was conducted in Spoken English and Navarasa with the aim of enhancing conversation skills and to improve upon the Abhinaya respectively of these young classical and non classical dancers of Sarvam Foundation’s Sarvam Shakti. I am an engineer in training, I love dance and realizes the value that art education brings to us.
Eager learners, students of classes 9 and 10, the girls participated in each activity with enthusiasm — be it a dialogue exchange between shopkeepers and customers, listening comprehension exercises or portrayal of Rasas like ‘Adbhuta’ and ‘Bibhatsa’.
A group discussion and a turncoat debate on recent issues showed me how involved and receptive they are to new things and surroundings. Truly it was an enriching experience both ways.
We also played word hunt games like Hippopotamus and acting games like Dumb Charades!
